SBS’s Housing Program is a peer-run service designed to provide people with an alternative option to traditional residential and supported housing programs. The purpose of the program is to provide transitional housing, respite, and hospital diversion . We provide housing for people re-entering the community from inpatient hospitalization, or for those who have not benefited from traditional residential or supported housing programs. We also provide short term respite with the goal of preventing crisis and reducing unnecessary hospitalizations.

The program is staffed by a full-time house manager and a full-time peer-companion who together will provide services 16 hours a day, 5 days a week.
SBS’s Housing Program is provided within an apartment building comprised of :
- An efficiency apartment
- A one-bedroom apartment
- A five-bedroom apartment
- A one-bedroom respite apartment
People entering the program will be provided numerous wrap-around supports and services including but not limited to:
- On-call and after hours support
- Case management
- Linkage to community supports and services
- Employment services
- Benefit advisement
- Support groups
- Daily living skills
- Access to SBS’s Drop-In Center.
